Editors Comment

Well we have finally got here!

The Recorder was born some two years ago as a typical village type newsletter. I cringe now when I look at the original copies! But we persevered. At one stage we became glossy and we were printed in Birmingham.

The inevitable scenario occurred however, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Suddenly out of no where came a look-a-like. This pale parody of the real thing lasted only a short time however and eventually disappeared. As your editor I have been relentlessly pursued by various town personalities to create a real local newspaper.

This is no easy task however and financially risky. What the hell, after studying the craft as a mature student I always fancied having my own paper. My background and initial training was in Broadcast Journalism, therefore forgive the inevitable typos and grammatical errors. I will learn as fast as possible to avoid them.

For those of you out there who enjoy nit picking, feel free! We look forward to your input. So here we are ! Hopefully for a long time. If not, so be it.

At least (to quote Vince Wetton) I shall never suffer from the “shudders” ie: “Should have done that, Should have done this.”

Wish me luck!
