The smoking ban is an ill thought out law issued by a Government hell bent on removing every civil right we have. What thought went in to the smoking ban? Wasn’t it obvious what was going to happen? Why couldn’t there have been a room for smokers and one for non somokers like days gone by or as it is today in the Isle of Man.I make it quite clear I am a non smoker but respect others freedom. If some of the politicians came from a business background rather than having no experience in the commercial world they would soon start to realise how detrimental they are to the business community as a whole! It’s not the fault of the pub trade the fault is to be firmly placed with the Government and Civil servants! Maybe the Government doesn’t want pubs? Higher taxation on alcohol, the smoking ban! How many images do you see of groups of people drinking from PINT glasses on the corner of the street? NOT ONE! The images show people drinking from cans and bottles supplied by local corner shops and supermarkets! So if more pubs close thanks to over zealous politicians we will all have stay at home and watch Government propaganda on our tv’s!No longer would you be able to debate politics in your bar.The demise of the local will lead to the downfall of social cohesion. Stop hammering an industry that is extremely responsible and yet is so heavily taxed and so heavily burdened by bureaucray!!! Mr JARVIS are you LISTENING!!!
