Fire Scare at The Angel

Pub equipment not to blame
Two fire crews and technicians from Eon the electricity suppliers were called to this Market Square pub on Monday evening (September 21st 2009).
What was believed to be an electrical fault in the cellar triggered fire alarms and the premis-es were evacuated. The Angel was hosting a Wake at the time of the alarm.
After intensive checks by the authorities the all clear was an-nounced, it transpired that the fault may have been with the mains supply and not with the cellar equipment at the pub.
