Police were called out following reports that a group of local young people were attacking a telephone box in Coronation Avenue, Polesworth.
Upon arrival PC Nicholson found nine local males and females aged between 15 and 17 years old busily covering the phone box in snow spray.

Age ban on Cigarette sales may not work says MP

Mike O’Brien says he is not naïve enough to believe under-age smoking will be stamped out by the government’s latest move.
From October, it will be illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to buy tobacco products. The minimum legal age limit is currently 16.
Bedworth-based Mr O’Brien, the government’s solicitor general, has welcomed the change. [...]

Stone Throwing at Trains Halted by PCSO’s

Two Kingsbury PCSO’s stopped damage in its tracks after police received reports that two young males were throwing stones at trains in Kingsbury.
PCSOs Carl Boulter and Dave Brown detained the two young men, obtained their details and took them home where their parents were informed.
Sergeant Ron Drake said,

Awarning has gone out to parents about the scale of underage drinking near Atherstone.
The stark warning comes from the head of the Warwickshire advice and careers service, Dave Fraser. He says he knows of children knocking themselves unconscious during illicit drinking sessions in Hartshill. Mr Fraser, operations manager at Connexions North Warwickshire, highlighted the issue [...]
